I has been years since I was actually heading back to school after labour day long weekend, but regardless this time of year still brings change for all – at least in terms of the season. It all of a sudden got cool (and really rainy) in BC for the first time in months. Normally hot weather extends well into September, but this year it feels like we’ve lost it already. I guess fall fashion gets some bonus time!
I keep wearing this suede skirt, but it’s seriously a thousand times more versatile than I thought it would be. A fully buttoned collared shirt will always make an outfit look preppy, proper and school ready, especially when peeking out of a knit. The sweater is from a few years ago, but I always bring it out for layering with longer, flowing shirts in the fall/winter. It’s my favourite way to transition summer pieces like silky tanks or dresses into the cooler months and it’s actually very warm.
If you’re been following on Instagram, you’ll know I spent the past few days at Yellow Point Lodge on Vancouver Island. It was a gorgeous spot to relax and also take some great photos. What a stunning location to be for a mini vacation. It may be very popular with retirees (and have no wifi), but is a special place for my family and we somehow managed to gather in surprisingly large numbers from across Canada.
