As much as I love shopping for a new season (who doesn’t!) it’s even more rewarding to have collected some favourite pieces I’ve been wearing for years. Knowing I have some oldies but goodies I can’t wait to dig out of the closet once the weather turns reminds me that there is more to fashion than just throw-away trends. Not to mention it helps keep me in check when I hit the mall…
The quality of this jacket I bought when I was a teenager is pretty unreal. I’ve seriously worn it every fall/winter for the past ten years without so much as a button falling off. I remember my mother convincing me to budget for a more expensive jacket over the flimsy ones my friend’s were buying at H&M. At the time I wanted something trendy but we decided a classic like this would take me further, and actually be warm. Thank goodness! Every year while those around me struggle to find a good coat I quietly take this one out of the back of my closet. I do love the longer versions I’ve been seeing more and more of this season too though!
These leggings have also successful lasted through 5 or 6 years and are still going strong. Though a faux leather legging may not be considered a “classic” just yet, I certainly have gotten my money’s worth and more. I like wearing them like this with extra long sweaters and booties this time of year.
What’s the longest you’ve had an item of clothing you still wear today?
