boyfriend denim and heels

I often find the outfits with the least thought and work put into them to be the most enjoyable. There is a reason why basics are the foundation of any solid wardrobe – they make getting ready quick, easy and chic. This look features a few of my favourites.

Nothing is more simple than a white tee and jeans, but I particularly love this loose boyfriend fit pair since they are one of the most comfortable I own. Ripped denim doesn’t seem to be going anywhere and neither is this looser shape.

With a boyfriend fit, I recommend wearing your shirt tucked in and with heels unless you want a really really laid back vibe. The key here is in the contrast, which I think makes things feel more interesting.  Heels are to this look as runners are to more polished dresses or trousers. Expect the unexpected!

This jacket has also been popping up in a lot of posts recently. It’s normally something I wear at work but I’ve been seeing the true potential I lost in this piece when it functioned so well in my professional life. I got it on sale at Forever 21 but they made a really similar style again this year. I like it best with the sleeves rolled up and worn in the spring/fall before I need a real jacket all the time.

Jeans: Forever 21 (similar), Jacket: Forever 21 (similar), Shirt: Victoria’s Secret Pink, Shoes: Ecco, Bag: Marc Jacobs
