vacation mode

How can anyone be in a bad mood when it’s 28 degrees outside in February? Though I know this is not the seasonal norm in Santa Barbara- I am making the most of it. Our hotel has an amazing pool where I spent the afternoon, but this morning I busied myself shopping downtown. Even with the low Canadian dollar, I managed to find a few bargains and some amazing consignment stores right on State Street.

When I’m on vacation I just want to look good and be comfortable. I definitely do not want to waste time getting dressed when I could be soaking up the sun! Thanks to some packing prep work, I had actually already planned this outfit (and a few others) before leaving Vancouver. This morning I just had to decide which look I wanted to go with, which meant getting read was a breeze.

The shorts and t-shirt are both a super soft stretch jersey so they are about as close to wearing PJs as you can come. A structured blazer and heels bring fashion back to focus without compromising how comfy I am. Even though they are heels, I can walk for miles in these shoes. This was proved today when I couldn’t remember where I parked my car for almost an hour. But thanks to how beautiful it was outside, I even enjoyed the whole search. I seriously love California…

Blazer: Topshop (similar from Forever 21), T-Shirt: Zara (similar from Forever 21), Shorts: similar from Forever 21, Shoes: Steve Madden (similar), Bag: Chloe, Sunglasses: Ray Ban
