As a Canadian, it’s pretty much a given I have zero aversion to the denim on denim trend we’ve been seeing for the past few years. I especially love it when a trend comes along that is built on basics most people have in their closet already!

Simply take your favourite pair of jeans and a denim shirt, jacket or even dress and layer away. I prefer looks that are either tone on tone or super contrasting like I’ve done here. I still haven’t found the perfect denim shirt, but this $25 one from Forever 21 is still somewhat doing the trick 3 years in. I don’t like all the pocket details though so I (somewhat) hid that part with a sleeveless blazer.
