It officially feels like spring this week! The sun is shinning and for the first time all year I wasn’t even a touch cold with bare legs. I’m sitting on my patio in the sun typing this – it feels so luxurious. Summer is my favorite time of year, and even just leaving work when it’s still light out makes me smile.
Though I can feel the warmth slowly taking over our city, I layered a crop sweater under my jean jacket since so much of the temperature this time of year depends on if you are in direct sunlight or not. I do like the contrast of the delicate silk dress with a knit, and the little bits of mandarin collar poking out at the top make it more interesting too. Summer can be somewhat uninspiring sartorially since less clothing = fewer options, so take advantage of the mixed weather to play with light jackets and sweaters while you still can.
This morning I also had the pleasure of attending an event put on by the historic brand Roger and Gallet – you might recognize their iconic circular soaps which have been around since 1879. I’m excited to try out the goodies they sent us home with! I put one of those beautiful soaps in my sock drawer so hopefully everything will be smelling rosy in there soon. The lovely pastel hues throughout the event inspired me to use these cotton candy colored walls as my back drop for my outfit today too!
