One of the most adorable and easy looks of summer is rocking a coord set. Usually they are made up of a crop and skirt/shorts, the two pieces matching perfectly together and showing just enough skin to cut the sweetness. There are some really cute ones out there, but skip the questionable fit + high price tag (why are they so expensive?) by putting together your own set.
The easiest way to DIY this look is to get your hands on a crop that matches a bottom already in your closet. You might even already have two items that coordinate which you’ve never thought to put together, so take stock of your wardrobe first (how the outfit above was created) and shop later! Other than with black, my first instinct is to find contrasting or complimentary colours/shades when I’m getting dressed so this look never crossed my mind until I was drooling over coord sets packing for Mexico.
If you do hit the mall, a store like Forever 21 or H&M will likely have the largest selection of crops. You’re going to have the easiest time matching with neutrals, but when in doubt a pattern can work as a good buffer while still keeping the look of a set. My personal fave for summer are lighter colours like this!
