I often feel like wearing the same old comfy basics, so luckily it just takes a few details to kick that casual outfit up a notch. Blue jeans, a white tee and a ponytail may be the girl-next-door stand by, but with a crepe blazer and and pointy toe mules they suddenly become grown up and ready for an evening out.
The block heel is having a moment right now, and it really is the most wearable shape you can choose. I’m on my feet all day so I need my shoes to be practical as well as pretty, and a more stable heel makes things so much easier. I love how convenient a slip on is too, so I’m glad these mules I’d been eyeing went on sale.
People tend to either love or hate crops, but I think they’re fun in a casual setting. Keep it classy by covering up elsewhere (higher neckline works great), or just wear with an open jacket or blazer over top so only your front is exposed. This blazer is one of those pieces I’m so glad I invested in during my early twenties. It has been worn to countless job interviews, and is always a quick pick me up when I don’t know what to throw on or need to turn up the sophistication on short notice.
Blazer: Aritzia, Top: H&M, similar from Zara, Jeans: Levis, Shoes: Oak and Fort (sold out online but available in store)
