budget friendly fall basics

In fall more than any other season I lust over high ticket items like jackets, leather boots and gorgeous knits that cost an arm and a leg. Though some of these pieces are worthy of an investment, I’m not in the market for anything fancy right now. However, I did find some great bargains that I think will get just as much wear as their expensive counterparts this autumn and beyond.

1) Sweater for $24.99 from H&M

This sweater is a dream. It’s long enough to wear with leggings, well made and cozy. I always lust over pieces like this in the fall but normally can’t find good quality knits for this price. Tons of colours too! I bought a large so it’s extra over-sized. The v-neck is just low enough to be flattering but not too risqué for work. Bonus, it’s from the conscious line and made with recycled cotton.

2) Pencil skirt for $10.90 from Forever 21

I bought this skirt last winter to wear to work and have been loving how comfy and stretchy it is. Perfect for early fall with a slouchy sweater and later on with tights. A basic staple in every season for $10, can’t beat that.

3) 3/4 length sleeve boat neck dress $19.90 from Zara

This dress is the perfect length and thickness for fall. They do make a solid version as well, but I love the stripe since it stands out a bit. The neckline is very flattering and the material is a bit more structured than most of the jersey dresses I’ve tried on.

4) Tights (not pictured) $6.80 from Forever 21

When the weather turns it is a great time to stock up on tights. These, booties + a leather jacket will help transition almost dress in your closet into your new fall favourite. I find the Forever 21 opaque tights to be way longer lasting and less expensive than any other brand I’ve purchased. When you’re tall finding a good cheap tight that is long enough can be a struggle and these do the trick.

Has anyone else found surprising deals this season?

Oh and I wanted to share with you some exciting news I got last week! Aritzia (one of my fave places to shop when budget is not as much of a factor) featured one of my photos from the blog on their website. Check it out here
