Denim jackets are a key layering piece in my spring wardrobe. I have two, and though I probably wear my cropped, more neutral one more, this one steals the spotlight whenever it gets some airtime. I picked it up a few years ago from the men’s section at a vintage store after searching high and low for a boxy but not shapeless version.
That’s a fine line with oversized items, and I find it helps to pair them with something realtively short, tight or girly for a good amount of contrast. This pleated skirt is super preppy and the total opposite of the jacket, but it also pairs well with dresses or skinny jeans. My favourite trick for making anything look more intentionally baggy is throwing on a pair of heels and a fancy purse with it.

This post came at a perfect time for me because I just rediscovered a vintage denim jacket which I inherited!
I’m glad I had good timing on that! Vintage denim jackets are the best, and a story behind it (like yours!) is even better.
